“Words about music: from ‘Pitchfork’ to ‘ACT’”.

Michil Idov is a famous Russian-American writer (Ground Up), journalist (New York Magazine, GQ) and screenplay writer (‘Духless’-2 and “Londongrad”, TV series). It is less know that he has been making music, touring the US with a band from NY called ‘Spielerfrau’. He made some records with artists from “Splin” and “Tequilajazz”. He performed at “Afisha-picnic” in 2011 as the head of the project called ‘Friends of the Oval’.

Idov will talk of his multiple attempts to combine music and literature at the presentation of his book named “ACT” 2014. Starting with collaboration with cult portal Pitchfork Media (where he got hired and had a secret goal to write a review about himself) till the ACT which main plot is based on his touring experience. He’ll pay special attention to the way internet, piracy and social networks have changed his routine as an independent artist and as a music critic.
