nemtsov2

Maxim Nemtsov (1963) is an interpreter and an editor. He graduated from Far Eastern State Univeristy (philological faculty). In the mid-1980s he was one of the founders of Vladovostok rock-club. From 1986 to 1991 he was editing and publishing an independent magazine called “DVR”. He worked as a passenger mate, a newspaper editor, a consul press and information assistant in the USA Consulate General in Vladivostok, an editor in “Ussuri” publishing house. In the beginning of 1990s he translated TV programs at the first media company with foreign fund in Russia — Russian Broadcast Corporation (RBK). In 1996-2003 he supported internet magazine of literary translation “Speaking In Tongues” and a publishing house with the same name. He has been working as an editor and translator with the best publishing houses in Moscow and St. Petersburg since 2001. He is a holder of “The Editor of the year” title by “Knizhnoe obozrenie”. In 2012 he became one of the first prize-winners of Nora Gal translator award. Blog

He is ready to talk about Pacific Atlantis, Far Eastern Republic, Lemuria, phantasmal San-Francisco in the Golden Horn Bay, about the reason we got it all messed up, and how to change the situation to the better is there a button for it, why this may be possible, an why not, what is necessary for one thing and another. About myth-making and 1980s promises, about “Vladiwoodstock”, legends and myths of Vladivostock rock-club (and a panda), how to reorganize Rabkrin and finally succeed. And about the most important thing — what this all is for.
