mothercoat have developed a cult following across the UK, America and Canada where they have toured extensively and played serveral showcase gigs at the SXSW and Rockness festival. Their latest EP ’5 – 1 + 1 =’ was released in February 2014 and one of the song was picked up as one of “six must-listen new track from around the world” on The Guardian and they were interviewed by The Japan Times in March 2014. They are also chosen to one of international bands to play at International Day Stage and also listed at the top of MTV Iggy’s ’10 Unmissable International Acts at SXSW 2014 that proves they are attracting international attentions. In regular demand at big venues across Japan, they are quirky, innovative and exhilarating. If you haven’t already seen them, you undoubtedly should. Since 2012 mothercoat have set its basis on Fukaya-City in Japan with a private studio and a vegetable field to devote itself into music even more.
